About John

John J. Mack, Jr., P.E.

John Mack has been an employee of Stuart Somers Co., LLC since 2000. Previously employed by Spath-Bjorklund Associates of Monroe since 1986, he has broad-based experience in the field of civil engineering design and has worked on thousands of projects of all sizes and types.

Prior to joining Spath-Bjorklund Associates, John was employed for five years as a Civil Engineer by Montgomery County National Park and Planning Commission, in Maryland. In this position, he worked closely with other professionals and regulatory agencies on the design and construction of many large-scale hiker-biker recreational trails and related facilities. John was responsible for the preliminary layout, horizontal and vertical design, specifications, drainage, and pavement design including crossings of many environmentally sensitive areas. He was also in charge of all permitting, contracts, contract awards, inspections, and payment authorization.

Currently, John is managing a variety of residential and commercial site planning projects from concept to design, permitting, and final approval. Mr. Mack is a licensed Civil Engineer in the State of Connecticut with over twenty-seven years of professional experience in civil engineering, subdivision design, large-scale D.E.P. septic system designs and monitoring, residential and commercial subdivision design, site planning, and permitting. Mr. Mack is highly experienced in all aspects of Civil Engineering.

John is a 1980 graduate of the University of Hartford.
